WHY WATERWISE IRRIGATION:
With water becoming a scarce resource, we are all looking for waterwise irrigation methods. The Microjet® irrigation technology waters at a lower pressure and low volume, meaning less water is used.

SAVE WATER:
The water is concentrated over a small area for more efficient watering around the plant root zone. Watering closer to the ground and the plant also means less water is lost to evaporation.

CUSTOMISE:
With the Microjet®, you can also choose which cap to use, which then allows watering in a particular direction (360°, 180°, 90°), reducing the amount of run off and water wasted even further.

Microjet® Jets:

Microjet jets are made up of a selection of bases (affects water discharge) and caps (affects spray patterns) that are interchangeable. Select the base and cap combination that best suits the area that you are watering. Microjet® Caps snap on to the Microjet® Base and direct the water discharged by the orifice in the base, in a particular discharge pattern. The caps are colour coded for their spray patterns (see below),  These caps are manufactured of a high quality, U.V. stabilised engineering plastic for maximum resistance to degradation by sunlight. They are easily snapped off and on for easy cleaning using the Microjet Spanner or Punch.

Spray patterns as shown below are indicated by the colour of the caps

Microjet® Bases:

Microjet® bases are made to the same fine tolerances and quality as the caps. They are colour coded to indicate the orifice size, the blue base indicating an orifice of 1.0mm and the green base indicating an orifice of 1.3mm. The size of the orifice determines the discharge rate of the base at any given pressure. The blue base is the most widely used base and with an orifice of 1.0mm diameter discharges 23 litres per hour at 0.5 bar and 53.7 litres per hour at 2.5 bar operating pressure. The green base, with it’s orifice of 1.3mm, discharges water at a rate of 35 litres per hour at 0.5 bar and 83 litres per hour at 2.5 bar operating pressure.

All bases and caps are 100% interchangeable. The cap simply clips on to the base to form a complete Microjet®. The Microjet® base is threaded (2BA thread) with a cutaway section for easy insertion into the pipe. It can be screwed directly into polyethylene pipe or into a Rigid Riser tube or a Microjet® Stake assembly.

MICROSPIN

MicrospinBlue-sml print
SPINNER Blue 360 PN 023

As its name implies the Microjet® Microspin is a highly accurate and efficient small sprinkler with a spinning rotor.  Unlike many other spinners on the market today, the Microspin has a double-sided frame and not a single legged “G” shape, to give it extra strength and to ensure that the rotor runs straight. The rotor has a double throw and has aerodynamic design which makes it suitable in high wind conditions. Single pole rotors with an “arm” sticking out to the side tend to be badly effected by wind.

The rotor is made of molybdenum filled acetal which has self lubricating properties and the hook is made from PBT which is a very hard material.

Being part of the Microjet® family, the Microspin conforms to Microjet® specifications and standards and is available the following orifice sizes: Black (0.8mm), Orange (0.9mm), Blue (1.0mm), Green (1.3mm) and Red (1.5mm). Like the Microjet® bases the colour denotes the orifice and therefore the output. In the case of the Microspin, however the hook is colour coded for this purpose. In this case the Microspin has a blue base.

The Microspin is made of the following parts :

  1. Strong, Durable frame made from high quality engineering plastic.
  2. Highly efficient and accurate spinner. The spinner can be removed and replaced by twisting out the hook attachment
  3. Available in 2BA (threaded) or 4mm Barbed configuration.
  4. Detachable hook, which can be used to suspend the sprinkler from trellis wires.
  5. Supporting lugs for use when hanging Microspin from trellis wires.

MICROJET®

framejet downspray blue-sml print cmyk
FRAMEJET 360° PN 0204

The Microjet® Framejet The Microjet® Framejet Downspray is part of the low pressure low volume Microjet® range of sprinklers. It is especially designed to irrigate small spaces such as pots or small beds in paved areas. The diameter of spray is much reduced by the shape of the deflector and this makes it ideal for irrigating plants where the wetting of leaves or foliage is not wanted. It can also be used for small trees or bushes where the spray needs to be contained close to the plant and can be replaced once the tree grows with a normal spray Microjet or Framejet. Should an adjustment to the amount of water be needed a Microjet choke can be
installed inline or the Varijet Downspray with a built in tap can be used instead.

Framejet Downspray is PERFECT FOR: Small Shrubs, small trees or pots.

Punch
Punch tool PN040

Microjet® Spanners and Punches are used to :

  • Form the hole into which the Microjet® is to be screwed
  • Screw the Microjet® into the hole
  • Snap the Cap off for cleaning

All of the Microjet® Spanners and Punches have a spike or punch portion and a hexagonal socket which accurately fits the hexagon on the Microjet® base.

The Microjet® Punch is fitted with a stainless steel tubular punch which removes a small slug from the polyethylene pipe thus forming the correct size hole to receive the Microjet®. This slug is prevented from entering the pipeline by it’s retention within the handle of the punch.

A hexagon socket at the back of the handle is used to screw the Microjet® into the pipe.

The Microjet® Punch comes complete with a cap to cover the sharp punch tip when not in use.

Risers - Copy
Rigid Riser 450mm (with adaptor) PN044

Microjet® Rigid Risers are 450mm high and 4mm wide (inside diameter) high density polyethylene tubes. They are used to install Microjets® above the soil surface where the lateral line is installed below the surface or to extend the height of the emitter above undergrowth where the lateral is installed on the surface of the soil.

They are also used on a Microjet® Stake Assembly to extend the height of the Microjet® to spray over foliage

Microjet® Rigid Risers are extruded straight and accurately machine-cut to different lengths to ensure that the cut is exactly square to the tube. At no time during the manufacturing process are the tubes bent or coiled as the material of manufacture has an inherent memory which results in a pipe which is coiled or bent during manufacture returning to it’s original shape when relaxed. By extruding the risers straight, a perfectly straight end product is ensured with no bending once installed in the field. The accurate cut ensures that the adaptor and jet are fitted correctly and will not leak. All rigid risers are supplied complete with adaptors already fitted.

It is advisable to support the rigid risers with a Microjet® Stake to ensure that they stand upright .

Mistake Corrector Plug (Barbed) PN046

This barbed mistake corrector plug (also known as Blank or Goof plug) is used to repair holes which have been made in the wrong position in polyethylene pipe or if Microjets®, Rigid Risers or Stake Assemblies need to be moved. The plug is simply pushed into the unwanted hole and seals, with the barb preventing it from falling out. It has a very neat finish as the plug, once inserted, lies flush with the pipe and is not easily visible

DiskAdaptor5mm
5mm Barbed Connector for flexible PVC tubing PN050

The Microjet®  Barbed Adaptor is a tube adaptor that is used to connect 5mm flexible tubing to polyethylene lateral pipelines. They can also be used to connect flexible tubing to Rigid Risers (usually to make movable stake assemblies) or to join pieces of tubing together.

This Microjet® Barbed Adaptor is called the “Disc Adaptor” because it has a fairly large disc in the centre of the body. This disc makes it easier to grip the adaptor when inserting it into the tube. It is also easier to press into the polyethylene pipe once the hole has been made in the pipe with the Microjet® Punch or Spanner as it has more area to grip. This is the standard adaptor used on the majority of the Microjet® Stake Assemblies.

MICROJET®

ChokeBarbed5mm
Choke (Barbed)
PN053

Microjet® Chokes are used in conjunction with 5mm Flexible PVC Tube or with Rigid Risers to restrict the volume of water passing through the tube. They are ideal for areas, such as potplants, where the watering amount might need to be adjusted to fit a certain area. Microjet® Chokes also solve the problem of plants that require differing amount of water at different times of the year. With a Microjet® Choke installed that line or riser can simply be switched off when not needed.

It is important to note that these are Chokes and do not necessarily shut off the water supply completely

This choke has a 5mm barb on both ends and is designed for insertion in 5mm small bore tubing to control the discharge through the tube.

PN105 for ½” Hose- or Polypipe
PN106 for ¾” Hose- or Polypipe

The Snap-on® / Emjay® Hose Connector is designed for use with either a hosepipe or polypipe. It is a more permanent connection and is ideal for use where the pressure in the pipe can build up. This happens when the hose nozzle at the other end of the hose is closed off and the hose pressure builds up to mains pressure. In this situation the standard Hose Connector could blow off and it is better to use this connector with a hose clamp.

It is available in ½” (15mm) and ¾” (20mm) fitting.

Pot Stake PN 059

The Microjet® Potstake is a special configuration from our range of Stake Assemblies. As in all Stake Assemblies, the Microjet® Potstake comes from the factory pre-assembled, tested and ready to use with minimal work.

The Microjet® Potstake is designed for use in plant pots where the water spray can be accurately controlled and only spray in the pot, not over the sides, while still wetting as much as possible of the soil / foliage.

The adjustable Varijet Downspray will allow the user to finely adjust the spray to ensure that there should be very few dry spots in the pot as well no overwatering. This makes the Potstake a superior method of watering pot plants to using hosepipes, watering cans or drippers. The varijet downspray has a circlular (360°) spray pattern.

The biggest difference between the Microjet® Potstake and the other Stake Assemblies is that the Potstake does not come with tubing. This is because the applications where it will be used will require differing lengths of tubing and therefore it is not possible to have it pre-assembled with tubing.

The Microjet® Potstake consists of: A 150mm Microjet® Stake, A short piece of rigid riser (about 100mm), A tube adaptor (BG04) and  Microjet® Varijet® Downspray.

Microjet® PVC tubing (black) and Tube Fittings (Adaptors, Tees) should be used to connect the Potstake to the water supply.(These items are purchased separately)
