Maximum UV protection and the highest quality

The Emjay® Poly Threaded Fittings range has been made to much higher quality than any other comparable product on the market in South Africa. These fittings are made from Black Virgin Polypropylene for maximum UV protection.

NO MOISTURE ABSORBED:

The Emjay® Poly Threaded Fittings are non-hydroscopic (they don’t absorb moisture) and are highly resistant to chemicals and fertilisers.

PRECISION-MADE:
The threads are all full form threads which have been cut by computer controlled machines to a standard taper of 2° across the range to ensure maximum seal at high pressure. These fittings have been tested up to 1600kPa (235psi) without damage or leaks.

EASILY IDENTIFIABLE:
The Emjay® Poly Threaded Fittings are easily identifiable by the bold name and size engraved on each part as well as the recycle mark clearly engraved for easy recycling. They have a robust octagonal nut section for easy tightening by hand or spanner.

Emjay® Poly Threaded Fittings:

Originally made for the overseas market, Emjay® Poly Threaded fittings have been manufactured to a much higher quality than any other comparable product on the South African market. They are made out of high grade polyprop with carbon black for maximum resistance to UV and long-lasting strength.

These fittings are strictly manufactured according to the BSP thread specifications and they adhere to the standard taper of
2° across the range to ensure maximum seal at high pressure. The fittings are non-hydroscopic (they don’t absorb moisture) and are highly resistant to chemicals and fertilizers, so you know you are getting the best quality.

It is recommended that a good quality thread seal tape (PTFE tape) is always used when installing Emjay® Poly Threaded
Fittings. Use these fittings to connect one poly threaded fitting to another in the installation of your irrigation system, if you are going to be running more than one irrigation circuit. The full range of Emjay® Poly threaded fittings includes Bushes, Nipples, Male and Female Plugs, Male and Female Tees and Elbows, Male to Female Elbows and Sockets and is available in all standard sizes from 1/2″ (15mm) to 2″ (50mm) pipe diameters, so the range caters for all needs.

What size do I require?

All the Emjay® Poly Threaded fittings are classified according to the pipe size as well as the BSP thread. (This is a standard
British measurement for thread fittings used in South Africa).

For example: 20mm x ½” BSP means that the fitting can fit into a 20mm pipe diameter and has a ½ inch BSP thread.

See the range of Emjay Poly Threaded fittings, available at Builders Warehouse and Builders Express, below:

MALE PLUGS

PolyMalePlug (1)

MBP 391 – ½”
MBP 392 – ¾”
MBP 393 – 1”
MBP 395 – 1½”

The Emjay® Poly Threaded Male Plug is used for closing off female threaded fittings and any threaded holes. Commonly used as a plug to close off unused outlets from water tanks.

FEMALE ENDCAPS

PolyFemaleCap

MBP 790 – ½
MBP 791 – ¾
MBP 792 – 1″

The Emjay® Female End Cap is used for closing off the end of a BSP threaded pipe or male fitting. This fitting uses the standard Emjay® octagonal nut at the back of it for easy tightening by hand or with a spanner. It also has a reinforcing ring around the opening to minimise any flaring that may happen should the fitting be overtightened.

NIPPLES

PolyNipple-sml print

MBP500 – ½”
MBP505 – ¾”
MBP510 – 1”

The Emjay® Poly Threaded Nipples are standard sized barrel nipple connectors with male threads on both sides and a robust octagonal nut in the middle for easy tightening by hand or with a spanner. They are used to connect any 2 female threaded components such as valves and manifold parts.

REDUCING NIPPLES

PolyRedNipple

MBP 520 – ¾” x ½”
MBP 524 – 1” x ½”
MBP 525 – 1” x ¾”

MBP 524 – 1” x ½”

The Emjay® Poly Threaded Reducing Nipples are barrel nipple connectors with male threads of different sizes on both sides and a robust octagonal nut in the middle for easy tightening by hand or with a spanner. They are used to connect any 2 female threaded components such as valves and manifold parts.

REDUCING BUSHES

PolyBush

MBP623 – ¾”x ½”
MBP624 – 1”x ½”
MBP625 – 1”x ¾”
MBP627 – 1¼”x ¾”
MBP628 – 1¼”x 1”
MBP629 – 1½”x ½”
MBP630 – 1½”x ¾”
MBP631 – 1½”x 1”
MBP632 – 1½”x 1¼”
MBP635 – 2”x 1”
MBP637 – 2”x 1½”

The Emjay® Poly Threaded Reducing Bushes are used to reduce a fitting with female B.S.P. thread to a smaller size or alternatively to increase the size of a male thread to a larger size.

SOCKETS

PolySocket

MBP651 – ½”
MBP652 – ¾”
MBP653 – 1”

Emjay® Poly Sockets are used to connect male threaded fittings together. These sockets have an “interrupted” thread which means that there is a stop in the middle of the socket to prevent the socket from screwing right through the male fitting or pipe. This means that the taper on both sides of the socket is the same (standard 2° taper throughout the Emjay Poly Threaded Fittings range) and both sides are therefore identical. These sockets are reinforced by having the octagonal nut on both ends which serves to minimise flaring should the socket be overtightened. The octagonal nut also makes tightening by hand or spanner easy.

Should a “through and through” or uninterrupted thread be required the Emjay® Nylon Socket can be used.

REDUCING SOCKETS

PolyRedSocket2

MBP 660 – ¾” x ½”
MBP 662 – 1” x ¾”

Emjay® Poly Reducing Sockets are used to connect male threaded fittings of different sizes together. They have a robust octagonal nut at both ends for easy tightening by hand or with a spanner. The octagonal nuts also serve to minimise flaring of the ends should the socket be over-tightened over the male thread.

EMJAY® IMPACT SOCKET

impact-socket-1

PN140 – ½”

The new IMPACT SOCKET from Emjay® is designed to accommodate the needs of users of impact sprinklers placed on top of standpipes or risers.

This socket is currently available in 1/2″ and 3/4″ BSP.

It is an interrupted socket which is designed with a thicker than normal “landing area” between the two tapered threads to ensure that the impact sprinkler’s rotating seals do not touch the top of the riser.

The riser side of the Impact Socket is shorter than the impact side to allow for thread length difference between various manufacturers of impact sprinklers.

The interrupted thread ensures that the riser and sprinkler do not touch and prevent the sprinkler from rotating, even if the riser is over-tightened. The landing area between the threads will prohibit this from happening.

The EMJAY® Impact Socket is made from high grade engineering polypropylene and has added UV stabilisers to counteract the effect of the sun’s harmful UV rays

THREADED ELBOW

PolyThreadedElbow

PN141 – 1 ½”

The Emjay® Male Threaded Elbow has a 1 1/2” BSP thread and is manufactures from high grade polyprop with carbon black for extra protection from harmful UV rays.

Is ideal for connecting water tanks to the mainline or any other irrigation purpose
